This study was commissioned by DFID currently FCDO to assess the social return on investment (SROI). It examined the programme’s impact on improving access to modern family planning methods, particularly among rural and vulnerable women.
The study utilized various methods, including document reviews, interviews with implementing partners, and focus group discussions in five districts of Uganda. Key findings showed a significant increase in the use of long-lasting and permanent contraceptive methods and the formation of a strong network of private clinics for family planning services.
The SROI ratio indicated that the programme generated substantial value for money, with most benefits accruing to women and urban youth.
